Juventus defender Alex Sandro has stated he has never cried as much as he did today in his life, as he played his last game for the Bianconeri against Monza in the Serie A.
The Old Lady finished their league season with a win against Monza and they confirmed a third-placed finish and they will play in the Champions League next season. But the game was a rather one emotional one, as Alex Sandro featured in the tie and the Brazilian broke down after the game, also scoring his last goal for the club in the tie.
The Brazilian spoke to DAZN about the game and he spoke about how emotional he was at the end of the tie.
He said (via TMW): “They were emotional rounds for me, I had never cried so much in my life. In a week. Not only that today. This whole journey has been beautiful, I thank the fans, the city, Italy. The teammates who have been proud of me and what I have done since the first year, I am very happy with the beautiful story I have made with these people.”
He also went on to describe the club as his family and thanked the players and the staff for helping him play at his best.
“In recent days I have told everyone that there have been beautiful trophies, finals. But I am taking away the people, the warehouse workers, the staff, everyone. What I will take away from Juve is this, all the love and respect. When he says that Juve is a great family and that’s what I feel.”
The defender will now be a free agent and he will make a decision about his future.
