Algeria: Abdelli stuck at Angers

Algeria: Himad Abdelli held hostage by Angers
Algerian international midfielder Himad Abdelli was sidelined from Angers SCO's first-team training on Wednesday, just days before the home clash against FC Metz in Ligue 1. Sent to train with the reserves (N3), Abdelli did not participate in the professional squad's session.
According to reports from the French daily “L'Equipe,” his absence is reportedly due to a “family obligation.” With his contract expiring in June, Abdelli is considering an early exit this winter, while Olympique de Marseille are closely monitoring his situation.
The Angers management, however, is unwilling to ease the path for an immediate transfer and is holding firm on their high demands, citing a 500,000-euro gap in negotiations. With the transfer window closing on February 2, the situation could still heat up in the coming days.
