Libya's head coach, Aliou Cissé, has not received his salary for eight months. Appointed to lead the national team in March 2025, the former Senegal manager is now facing serious financial challenges within the Libyan Football Federation.

According to several sources, the federation’s president, Abdulmola Al-Maghribi, has acknowledged that the Libyan FA is going through a tough period, making it impossible to pay the coaching staff on time:

The Federation has delayed payment of the national team coach and his staff’s salaries for eight months due to financial constraints.

Signed on a two-year contract with an optional third, Aliou Cissé is tasked with leading Libya into the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, despite the current financial turmoil within the federation.
