Allan said goodbye to Palmeiras supporters before departing for England, where he will sign a five-year contract with Manchester City.
According to Globo.com, the forward received a commemorative plaque from president Leila Pereira and academy coordinator João Paulo Sampaio on the pitch at Nubank Parque before Wednesday’s Copa do Brasil match against Santos, and he was given an ovation.
He reflected that he joined the club at 14 and leaves at 22, calling Palmeiras a place where he was very happy and a club he learned to love. He added that he would carry every part of it with him, and spoke of parents who quit their jobs and at times went without food to support him and his brother.
His trip to Manchester had been pencilled in for Wednesday, but the schedule shifted to allow for the tribute. An academy product, he has shown deep gratitude to the club behind the scenes.
Manchester City will pay 40 million euros, around R$ 240 million, comprising 37.5 million euros guaranteed and 2.5 million in performance-related bonuses.
Allan made 96 senior appearances for Palmeiras, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists. He won two Campeonato Paulista titles, in 2024 and 2026.
