Allan has enjoyed a rapid rise at Palmeiras over little more than a year, his valuation jumping 2,900% with a €40 million move to Manchester City agreed on Monday, pending final formalities.

According to Globo.com, the package is €37.5 million guaranteed plus €2.5 million in add-ons, and Palmeiras are entitled to 90% of the proceeds.

Last year, before the Club World Cup, Palmeiras held 70% of the forward’s economic rights and bought a further 20% from Figueirense for R$ 1.6 million.

That deal implied an R$ 8 million valuation. A year on, the same 20% slice is worth R$ 48 million, a profit of R$ 46.4 million on that tranche.

On the pitch, Allan became an undisputed starter, producing nine goals and 12 assists. After seven matches spent on the bench he forced his way back and was decisive in Palmeiras’ progress to the Paulista quarter-finals.
