Alphadjo Cisse has warned Serie A defenders he is still some way off his peak despite a blistering start at San Siro.

The 19-year-old has struck crucial goals against Torino and Juventus under new head coach Ruben Amorim. "This year has brought me a lot of joy. I've only shown 70 percent of my capabilities so far, I know I can do much better," he told Rai Sport after scoring the winner for Italy Under-21s against Armenia in a European qualifier.

That early-season form follows a productive loan at Catanzaro and has already rewritten the record books. Cisse has eclipsed Patrick Cutrone as Milan's youngest Italian league goalscorer since 2017, then set a new mark for successive away goals in the three-points-per-win era.

He added: "The goal brings me a lot of happiness, and from now on I hope to be able to show lots of other characteristics."

Milan now face a test of consistency at Sassuolo in Serie A after the international break. Attention then shifts to Europe with a Europa League meeting with Salzburg. With a busy autumn looming, Cisse has a chance to cement a starting role if he turns those words into performances.
