Amar Dedic has left Benfica for Newcastle, departing one year after arriving from Salzburg.

The club said in a statement to the CMVM that the deal is worth 35.9 million euros and includes a 17.94% share of any future capital gain.

Newcastle may retain 5% for the solidarity mechanism, about 1.8 million euros, to be distributed to the clubs involved in Dedic’s development.

Benfica will also pay intermediary fees equal to 10% of the transfer value after that solidarity deduction, around 3.4 million euros.

Salzburg are due 15% of the capital gain, calculated after deducting Benfica’s purchase price for the Bosnian international and the solidarity amount.

The 23-year-old right-back now reunites with head coach Matthias Jaissle at Newcastle and begins a new chapter in the Premier League.
