Carlo Ancelotti has called up three Corinthians players, Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho and Breno Bidon, for Brazil’s next international window, making the club the most represented.
The federation announced a 26-man squad on Wednesday at CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, opening a new cycle towards the 2028 Copa América and 2030 World Cup.
Brazil reconvene for the first time since a 2-1 last-16 loss to Norway at the 2026 World Cup. They play Australia on 25 and 29 September, both at seven, in Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium then Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, before visiting India to face the hosts in Kolkata on three October at 11.00.
Goalkeeper Hugo Souza earns a sixth call-up in seven Ancelotti squads, having missed only the 2026 World Cup. Matheuzinho previously featured for Brazil Under-20s in 2018 with Londrina, while Breno Bidon helped win the 2025 South American Under-20 title after breaking into Corinthians’ first team.
Ancelotti’s staff watched the Clássico Alvinegro at Neo Química Arena on 30 August, when Corinthians lost 1-0 to Santos in the Brasileirão. Before reporting from 21 September, they visit Estudiantes in La Plata this Wednesday at 21:30 for a Copa Libertadores quarter-final first leg.
The run also brings Flamengo at the Maracanã on Sunday at 17:30 in round 27, the Estudiantes return on 16 September at 21:30 at Neo Química Arena, and Fluminense on 20 September at 16:00 in round 28.
