Corinthians have three players in the same Brazil squad for the first time in around 11 years, with goalkeeper Hugo Souza, right-back Matheuzinho and midfielder Breno Bidon selected by Carlo Ancelotti in a 26-man group for the first friendlies since the 2026 World Cup.

The federation announced the squad on Wednesday afternoon at its Rio de Janeiro headquarters, marking the start of a new cycle targeting the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup.

The last time the club had at least three call-ups was October 2015 under Dunga, when Cássio, Gil, Elias and Renato Augusto were picked for the 2018 qualifiers.

Since then, Corinthians had managed at most two in one list, most notably at the 2018 World Cup when Tite took Cássio and Fagner. In recent squads only Hugo Souza or Yuri Alberto featured, on separate occasions.

Brazil will play three friendlies, Australia twice on 25 and 29 September at 7h Brasília time at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, then India on 3 October at 11h at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, Corinthians are in Argentina for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals on Wednesday at 21h30, with Fernando Diniz’s side facing Estudiantes at Estádio Jorge Luis Hirschi in La Plata.
