According to O Jogo, André Silva’s strong start for FC Porto has put a possible return to the national team on the agenda, with Jorge Jesus due to name his first squad on Friday for Nations League fixtures against Wales, Norway and Denmark.
The forward has 53 senior caps, most recently in 2022 against South Korea, and has scored 19 goals.
He has three goals in eight appearances this season and has started seven times, underlining his status in the side.
The Italian coach Francesco Farioli recently said Silva is in excellent shape and fully involved in Porto’s play. He added they even joked that in Viseu the striker ran almost 12 kilometres, posting Froholdt-level numbers, and that he is contributing in attack and defence with leadership and the trust of his team-mates.
That club form could strengthen his case for a recall if Jesus turns to him for the Nations League campaign.
