Gilbo said: “The talks with Austria Wien, their vision for the future, and the club’s structure gave me a very good feeling. For several years now, you can see the development of the Violets and I think there’s still a lot of potential in this team. I’m looking forward to the upcoming challenges in the league and the Champions League qualifiers.”

Gilbo was born in Tyrol in 2002, but due to her Croatian roots, she has played for the Croatian youth national team since her youth. She began her career at SK Rum and later moved to Wacker Innsbruck, where she made the jump to the first team in 2019.

At the age of 19, she left Tyrol and continued her career at SK Sturm Graz, where she played for three seasons. In 2024, she transferred to the then champions SKN St. Pölten, where she spent the last two years.

Stefan Kenesei, head coach, said: “With Gilbo, we’ve gained a player who combines a goal-scoring threat and creativity at the highest level. She not only possesses a pronounced finishing instinct but also an eye for the decisive final pass, which allows her to significantly influence matches.

“Furthermore, Andrea is an extremely positive, humorous and cheerful character whose energy enriches any team. We are delighted to welcome her to Austria Vienna.”
