According to The Laziali, Andrea Pinamonti is open to joining Lazio this summer. His agent Bepe Riso, who also represents Danilo Cataldi, has recently met club officials, and the striker was discussed.
The push comes after Lazio missed out on Franjo Ivanovic. Benfica had given the Aquile the green light, but the Croatian opted for RC Lens, who will play in the Champions League this season.
Gennaro Gattuso flagged the need for a new centre-forward on arrival, after no Lazio player scored more than five goals last season across all competitions. Sporting director Angelo Fabiani has struggled to land a striker so far.
Santiago Gimenez was identified as Gattuso’s dream target, but Lazio cannot afford a permanent deal, while AC Milan have yet to open up to an initial loan. Pinamonti has since emerged as a leading alternative.
An Inter youth product, Pinamonti joined Sassuolo in 2022 after loans at Genoa and Empoli. Across three seasons with the Neroverdi, including a 2024/25 loan back at Genoa, he made 109 appearances and scored 26 goals alongside Armand Lauriente and Domenico Berardi.
With one year left on his deal, Sassuolo could grant a discount, perhaps lowering the fee to €10 million to avoid losing him for free. Fiorentina’s Roberto Piccoli is also on Lazio’s list, although Bologna provide strong competition.
