Andreas Pereira was sent off in Palmeiras’ first leg of the last 16 against Cerro Porteño and will miss next Wednesday’s Libertadores return in Asunción, Paraguay.
According to Globo.com, Uruguayan referee Gustavo Tejera judged an elbow by the number eight during a midfield challenge.

The incident came shortly after Cerro Porteño had a goal ruled out for offside.
Pereira and several Palmeiras team-mates protested to the referee, but the decision stood. He left the pitch insisting he had done nothing.
With the midfielder having shared duties alongside Marlon Freitas, Lucas Evangelista is likely to start the second leg.
