Andrés Sanchez has been expelled from Corinthians’ association after a Deliberative Council vote on Monday night, and has ruled out an appeal, saying he wants to keep his distance from football.

"Forget me." "I am calm," he told ESPN.

"I do not want to return. In fact, I want distance. Football is expensive, boring and dangerous."

The vote at the club’s Parque São Jorge headquarters drew 167 voters, with 112 approving expulsion, 49 against and six abstentions. The process was opened over alleged irregular use of a corporate card between 2018 and 2021, with around R$ 480,000 said to have been spent on personal expenses.

Asked about the matter, Sanchez said, "Mate, it is done. R$ 9,000 at the end of the year on the card, drunk. Life goes on."

The club’s Justice Commission began investigating in August last year, shortly before the São Paulo state prosecutor’s office filed charges in October for misappropriation, money laundering and falsification of a tax document. A court initially discarded the laundering and falsification accusations, but that decision was suspended after prosecutors filed a suspicion motion alleging partiality. Prosecutors seek reimbursement of approximately R$ 480,000 plus damages of 75% of that amount, taking the claim to more than R$ 1.1 million.
