Andy Halliday has questioned whether Celtic’s significant investment in Kasper Høgh is beginning to look like a mistake following another ineffective derby appearance against Rangers.
The Danish striker was introduced at half-time during Celtic’s 1-0 defeat at Parkhead, but struggled to make an impact as Martin O’Neill’s side were beaten by their city rivals for the second time in seven days.
Høgh failed to seriously trouble Rangers goalkeeper Ivor Pandur and was unable to provide the attacking spark Celtic desperately needed as they chased an equaliser.

The 25-year-old arrived from Bodo/Glimt during the summer in a club-record deal worth an initial £11.5million, with further add-ons potentially taking that figure higher.
Høgh made an early impression with a hat-trick against Kilmarnock, but former Hearts and Motherwell midfielder Halliday believes there is now a large enough sample size to question whether Celtic have received sufficient value for their investment.
“I questioned Kasper Hogh’s involvement in the game last week, I thought he was really poor,” Halliday said on BBC Sport. “And we’ve now got a decent sample of his Celtic career and obviously he didn’t have a great game on his debut against Dundee but you thought that would be the outlier that performance after he followed up with a hattrick against Kilmarnock.
“After a good chunk of games now you’re now questioning whether £12million is a good investment for Kasper Hogh.”
