It was a first half of many fouls but few chances, as both sides looked to impose themselves on this Guadalajara derby.

It took until nine minutes from the end for the Flock to make the decisive breakthrough.

After a patient build-up, Vega burst into the penalty area before squaring to Zaldívar who applied a brilliant finish.

After spending most of the season languishing near the bottom of the Guard1anes 2021 table, Chivas now find themselves in the lofty position of eighth.

Los Rojiblancos are level on Atlas on 22 points, but the Clásico losers stay above their rivals on goal difference.
