Angolan-born young defender dies during match in Portugal
Portuguese football has been struck by tragedy. Nassur Bacém, 27, a player for LGC Moncarapachense, died suddenly during an Algarve Cup match against Imortal DC.
Just fifteen minutes into the game, the left-back of Angolan descent collapsed on the pitch, suffering a cardiac arrest. Despite the swift intervention of medics and his transfer to hospital, nothing could be done to save the young footballer.
Trained at Sporting CP and SC Braga, Bacém went on to play for several Portuguese clubs, including AD Camacha, FC Oliveira do Hospital, and the reserves of CS Marítimo. The football world today mourns a talented player and a young man taken far too soon.
