“Annoyed me” – Joe Cole goes at Chelsea owners for their “nonsense PR” | OneFootball

Former Chelsea winger Joe Cole is NOT happy with Chelsea’s owners once again, and he targets their “nonsense PR” this time.

Cole has been one of the more vocal former Chelsea players who has voiced his views on what has been going on at the club lately, like the majority of the Blues fan base too. Cole after all is just another Chelsea fan now, and he lives and feels it all like all of us.

If you do not think things have been anything but toxic and turmoil at this club for the last four years under the ownership of Blueco, then you have been living in a huge bubble.

Chelsea have missed out on Champions League football yet again this season and are struggling to even make the Conference League, which no fan even wants to be in again. So, things are bad, still.

In quotes picked up on X yesterday, Cole said on The Dressing Room Podcast:

“What annoyed me about the announcement with [Xabi] Alonso was, we were still on air, Chelsea just lost the FA Cup final.

“There’s been one of these big journalists who I know is connected to the club, so they leak things through the big journalists, you’ve got the Twitter followers and all that.

“I don’t like that PR nonsense. They’ve announced it half an hour before the end of the show, and that makes me cautious about the future, are they actually changing, because if you’re going to change, even in your blueCo, you go right, you need to be honest, you made the mistakes you’ve made, and fans don’t want to be PRed.

“They just want to be told we’ve made a mistake, we’ve come in, we’ve wasted a lot of money, and now this is what we do, we’re going to go with Xabi Alonso, and we’re going give him complete ownership on the club and we are going to trust him.”

Chelsea have seemingly given the keys to their operation to Xabi Alonso in order to persuade him to join – and we don’t mind that at all. Alonso has been elevated to sporting director level!

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer after returning to full fitness. It could be a long summer of rumours around Chelsea!
