Another Real Madrid star reveals his Ballon d’Or vote | OneFootball

Another leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week backed teammate Kylian Mbappé to lift this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Frontman Mbappé is for his part of course amongst the very favourites to be named world football’s standout performer for the last 12 months at next month’s ‘Golden Ball’ ceremony.

The 27-year-old is fresh off a 40+ goal season with Real Madrid in 2025/26, followed by a record-breaking summer with France at the World Cup.

The main argument against Mbappé’s Ballon d’Or case is the lack of silverware to show for his goalscoring efforts, with neither his club nor country having ultimately added to their trophy cabinets over the last year.

As alluded to above, though, one individual of the opinion that Mbappé’s individual excellence is nevertheless worthy of a first-ever Golden Ball is teammate and attacking partner-in-crime Carlos Espí.

Asked who he feels should emerge triumphant at October’s Paris gala during an interview with Diario AS this week, frontman Espí did not hesitate, simply responding:

”Mbappé.”
