Anresf probes Vasco SAF sale, bars dealings with Palmeiras and Crefisa during review | OneFootball

Brazil’s football regulator Anresf has opened a formal probe into a potential ownership conflict in the sale of Vasco’s SAF to a group led by Marcos Lamacchia, the stepson of Palmeiras president Leila Pereira. As a precaution, Vasco are temporarily barred from doing business with Palmeiras and Crefisa.

According to Globo.com, the interim restrictions cover player deals, shared facilities and financial operations, including a ban on new Crefisa loans after the R$ 80 million facility in 2025.

The investigation was opened on Wednesday after a technical inquiry begun in June, with the Segunda Turma de Julgamento acting on documents Vasco shared about the signed investment proposal. The case will be assessed under CBF fair play rules that prevent one group from controlling two clubs, and Anresf’s Article 86, which bars any person from holding control or significant influence over more than one side.

Anresf has not yet ruled on the merits, it will examine whether Lamacchia’s purchase would create a prohibited link with Palmeiras through his family ties. The measures aim to avoid decisions that could cause irreparable sporting interference before the review ends.

The prohibitions also apply to relations between Vasco and Crefipar, the Leila Pereira-led financial conglomerate that includes Crefisa, and extend to sharing professionals or sensitive information.

Vasco, Palmeiras, Almirante Participações and Crefipar were notified on Wednesday, they are not parties to the case but may submit views.
