Former Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao is out of contract at Reading in the summer, which has caused debate among Owls fans about a potential reunion.
The 29-year-old spent four years at Hillsborough - scoring 29 goals and providing 13 assists in 127 appearances for the Yorkshire club.
Wednesday made a healthy profit when they sold Joao to Reading in 2019 and the four-year contract that he signed with the Royals is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
Staying fit has been an issue for the Angola international but he has been outstanding at times for the Berkshire club.
His Royals record, 43 goals and 14 assists in 109 appearances, is hugely impressive while at his best he has dominated Championship defences.

With Wednesday top of League One and on course to return top the second tier, the availability of the forward could be of interest to Darren Moore and co.
Joao's contract status and a potential summer reunion have proven a talking point among Owls fans, who have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
