The French centre-forward arrives at Frankfurt on loan from English Premier League side Nottingham Forest FC, with the Eagles possessing an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of Arnaud Kalimuendo, who becomes the club’s sixth winter arrival. The 23-year-old joined English side Nottingham Forest FC at the start of the current season, registering two goals in 14 competitive appearances. The move to Frankfurt is the 1.75-metre forward’s second spell at a foreign club.
The striker joined the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy at the age of ten in summer 2012, having grown up on the outskirts of the French capital. He rose through the ranks there and made his professional debut in September 2020.
Kalimuendo subsequently went on loan to French top-flight outfit RC Lens, where he recorded 21 goals and six assists in 65 league and cup appearances, before sealing a permanent transfer to Stade Rennes in summer 2022. There, he contributed 40 goals and 14 assists in 112 competitive outings, and finished as the third-highest scorer in Ligue 1 in 2024/25 with 17 goals.
Kalimuendo has made several appearances in the UEFA Youth League and UEFA Europa League, while he has 52 caps for France’s youth teams, scoring 23 times and providing five assists. He also found the net once at the 2024 Olympic Games under coach Thierry Henry.
Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “In Arnaud Kalimuendo, we’re signing a forward who, despite his young age, has performed at a consistently high level in Ligue 1. He has pace, makes runs behind the defence and is a clinical finisher, and he also works really hard off the ball. It was important for us that he was not only a very good fit in terms of the football he plays, but also in terms of his character. Arnaud has the ambition to keep developing, and we are confident that he has the environment here to exploit his full potential.”
