Arsenal are interested in signing West Ham United defender Konstantinos Mavropanos this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The 6ft 4in defender played seven Premier League games for the club after joining from PAS Giannina in 2018.

He joined VfB Stuttgart on loan in 2020 before a permanent departure in 2022.

The West Ham star could now rejoin the club despite having William Saliba, Jurrien Timber, Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White as right-footed centre-back options.

Ian Wright previously claimed that Mavropanos was ‘going to be an Arsenal legend’.

He is expected to leave West Ham following their relegation to the Championship, and he is attracting plenty of interest.

The Greek international had an impressive individual campaign with the Hammers.

However, it is unclear whether Mavropanos will fancy his chances of playing regularly for Arsenal.

White is likely to leave, and Saliba may need to undergo a procedure after the World Cup to fix a back injury issue he has been carrying for a while.

Manager Mikel Arteta needs quality squad depth at the back for Arsenal to challenge strongly across all competitions.

Mavropanos would be a solid addition after proving his quality at West Ham.
