Arsenal joins Liverpool in the race for Portuguese international

Arsenal are the latest club to show interest in Pedro Neto as the Chelsea star is linked with a move to another club during this transfer window.

Neto has been one of the top wingers in England for some time, having made a name for himself at Wolves before moving to Chelsea, where he remains an important player. The Blues would love to keep him, but the Portuguese star could ask to leave, while he has also been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks.

Liverpool need another winger

Liverpool need wingers after losing Mohamed Salah, and several names have been on their radar. Bradley Barcola is among the players they are interested in, while Arsenal also want to sign the Frenchman as they continue searching for another attacker.

The Gunners had been keen to sign Vinicius Junior, but the Brazilian chose to remain at Real Madrid. Arsenal must now decide which winger they want to pursue next as they continue their search for a major addition to their squad.

Neto has emerged as another possible option, although Arsenal’s interest could face competition from Liverpool, who have a greater need for another winger following Salah’s departure.

Arsenal enter Neto race

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal have joined the race for Neto, who has been on their radar since he was playing for Wolves. The Gunners continue to regard him as one of the top attackers in the league and would welcome the opportunity to add him to their squad.

However, Neto plays in the same role as Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke, meaning Arsenal already have suitable options in that position. As a result, their interest may not be as serious as Liverpool’s, given the Reds have a greater need to strengthen their options on the wing.

Chelsea would prefer to keep Neto, but the possibility of an exit means interest from Arsenal and Liverpool could become important. For the Gunners, his quality is clear, but the presence of Saka and Madueke could make a move less necessary.

Liverpool may therefore have the stronger reason to pursue Neto, while Arsenal could continue considering other options as they look to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
