Simon Jones of the Daily Mail reports that Arsenal and Liverpool are heading for a tribunal, after failing to agree compensation for 16-year-old striker Vincent Joseph.
Joseph has decided to leave Liverpool and turned down a scholarship contract with the club, but his age means his club are still owed a fee.
Reports earlier this week suggested Arsenal were in talks with Liverpool over a settlement, but Jones’ update implies that those negotiations have failed.

Jordan Campbell and James McNicholas reported for The Athletic this week that Arsenal have an agreement in place with Joseph himself, so the only remaining factor is how much they’ll have to pay Liverpool.
Joseph made his breakthrough into u18 Premier League football last season, scoring three goals in his two appearances for Liverpool.
The young striker has also scored eight goals in his nine games for the England u16s, with all of those appearances coming in the course of the 2025/26 campaign.

Arsenal have been on the lookout for youth strikers in recent transfer windows, and they missed out on Will Wright to Liverpool just last year. But after agreeing terms with Crystal Palace’s Mylo Bernard and Liverpool’s Joseph, they may finally have found their academy additions.
Arsenal have also signed Elijah Upson from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and they’re set to complete the signing of Axel Donczew from Cardiff City.
