Arsenal’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen has been boosted, with direct talks opened with Galatasaray, Express reports. The Istanbul club are interested in Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, opening the door to a potential swap.
Osimhen has been a long-term target to bolster the champions’ attack as they look to retain the Premier League title, though Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez remains the priority.
The Nigerian joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in 2024, then signed permanently last summer for 75 million euros. He has 59 goals in 74 games, two Turkish league titles, and finished last season with 22 in 33.
He has never played in the Premier League but has long spoken of his ambition to move to England. “The Premier League is the strongest in the world, and I am doing my utmost to achieve my dream of playing there one day,” he said in 2023.
Galatasaray have tabled an offer of 38 million pounds sterling for Martinelli, who scored just one league goal in Arsenal’s title-winning campaign. He has one year remaining on his contract and faces competition from new signing Christos Tzolis.
Nwaneri returned from an unsuccessful loan at Marseille in the second half of last season. After a debut goal he made only 11 appearances, a coaching change limiting his minutes.
