Arsenal loan midfielder Fabio Vieira has been in strong form lately, and he kept that going by scoring the opening goal in Hamburger SV’s 1-1 draw with FC Koln on Saturday.
The finish was inspired, with Vieira spotting the positioning of the goalkeeper before lobbing him with the outside of his foot on the half-volley using his first touch.
The player then seemed to celebrate with Bukayo Saka’s trademark shrug.

As mentioned, Koln came back to equalise and secure a draw, but Vieira’s individual form has been impressive lately.
The 25-year-old now has five goals or assists in his last eight games, including goals against Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig. That puts him on 11 goal contributions for the season, despite having a very disrupted start to the campaign.
A couple of unfortunate red cards in Vieira’s first five Bundesliga appearances meant he’d served two suspensions by the time the November international break came around, but he’s been a consistent starter for the team since then.

Recent reports have suggested HSV want to renegotiate the price of a potential permanent transfer for Vieira this summer, as they’re unwilling to activate the €20m clause in his loan deal from Arsenal.
But given Vieira’s positive performances in 2026 so far, it certainly seems likely HSV would want to sign him permanently for the right price. There may well be other bidders if he keeps up these displays.
