Arsenal reach agreement with Al-Hilal on Martinelli fee | OneFootball

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Al-Hilal for the transfer of Gabriel Martinelli.

A club-to-club agreement is in place over a transfer fee between £50m and £55m for the winger, with Al-Hilal now working to convince Martinelli with a lucrative contract proposal.

The Saudi Pro League side are in discussions with Martinelli’s camp with optimism the player will be sold on the club’s project.

There are no issues around the transfer fee involved, reports Fabrizio Romano, with Arsenal accepting an offer of upwards of £50m. The fee will represent a record sale for the Gunners, who have been criticised for their selling power in recent years.

Martinelli is free to leave Arsenal after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta. He started only 11 league games last season and has since seen Christos Tzolis arrive to provide competition. Martinelli’s deal at the Emirates also expires next summer with the Premier League champions keen to recoup a fee this summer.

The 25-year-old could become Al-Hilal’s latest marquee recruit from English football, following a £60m deal for former West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville earlier in the window,
