AS Roma sign Marseille centre-back Leonardo Balerdi on €one million loan with option

AS Roma have signed Marseille centre-back Leonardo Balerdi, 27, on an initial paid loan worth €one million. The deal includes a purchase option that can become mandatory under set conditions, the clubs announced.

He will wear No. 26 for the Champions League side.

Balerdi could make his Roma debut on Monday against Lecce.

The Argentine had been expected to leave Marseille this summer amid the club’s financial troubles.
