Asmir Begovic signs for Leicester | OneFootball

Leicester City have completed the signing of experienced goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a one-year deal.

The 38-year-old had been without a club since leaving Everton earlier this summer. He had a few offers on the table but has decided to join Leicester, where he’ll reunite with Marti Cifuentes. The pair previously worked together at QPR last season, with Begovic featuring in nearly every Championship fixture.

With a career that includes stints at Chelsea, Stoke and Bournemouth, the Bosnian international brings leadership and a wealth of top-level experience to the dressing room. He’ll likely be expected to push for the number one spot while also mentoring the club’s younger goalkeepers.

Begovic is Leicester’s first signing of the summer window, though more additions are expected as the club looks to bounce back following relegation from the Premier League.

The Foxes have one final warm-up game this weekend - a friendly against Fiorentina - before launching their Championship campaign at home to Sheffield Wednesday on 10 August.
