Asmir Begovic will be sidelined for a few weeks after rolling his ankle in the warm-up before Leicester City’s defeat to Norwich, LeicesterMercury.co.uk reports.

The veteran is in a protective boot and had been named to start. Jakub Stolarczyk replaced him, produced several saves, then conceded twice, and is expected to start against Ipswich with Fran Vieites on the bench.

The setback is a blow, yet also a chance for others to step up while he is unavailable.

There are no fresh issues, with Caleb Okoli available to face the Tractor Boys. He went off against Norwich through illness, having needed stitches after a head knock at Middlesbrough.

Jordan James and Jamaal Lascelles got minutes on their returns and are in contention to start at Ipswich. There is caution over workloads in a three-game week, with home games against Bristol City and QPR to follow within seven days.

Hamza Choudhury has had some training time, but it might be too soon for him.

City still have six players out, with Begovic joined by Jannik Vestergaard, Victor Kristiansen, Harry Souttar, Aaron Ramsey and Choudhury.
