Aston Villa boss Unai Emery says he does not expect any more January signings at the club ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
Villa have so far added youngsters Brian Madjo and Alysson, striker Tammy Abraham, midfielder Douglas Luiz, and recalled Leon Bailey from his loan spell at Roma this month.
But Emery says that is expected to be all for the Villains, who were beaten 1-0 at home to Brentford in their latest outing.
“Not. Definitely,” he replied when asked if he expects a busy final day of the window.
“I think it is clear. We don’t have a lot of possibilities to do something to improve now.
“We did everything we planned. It is completely done, the transfer window for us.”
Midfielder Amadou Onana was left on the bench for the defeat to the Bees, and Emery says it was because of a muscle issue.
“He was not feeling completely fit after the match on Thursday,” Emery explained. “He had a tired muscle.”
Reflecting on the loss, Emery said: “We lost a very good opportunity, but how we played and how they competed, it can happen.”
