Luiz Gets 7.5, Martinez On The Bench | Aston Villa Players Rated In Poor Loss Vs Brentford

Aston Villa welcomed Brentford at Villa Park earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a decent start to the game and found themselves at a numerical advantage in the 42nd minute when Kevin Schade was sent off by the referee. Dango Ouattara gave Brentford the lead in the latter stages of the first half as Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
The West Midlands club failed to mount a comeback in the second 45 minutes and crashed to a poor 1-0 loss in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Aston Villa player fared during the clash against Brentford.
He failed to make a save in the game but was tidy with his ball distribution.
RB: Matty Cash – 7/10
Cash was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CB: Ezri Konsa – 6.5/10
He did his fair share of defending and was good on the ball.
CB: Pau Torres – 7/10
Torres cleared the danger when he could and was tidy with his passing.

LB: Ian Maatsen – 7/10
He performed his defensive duties well and made two key chances in the final third.
CM: Douglas Luiz – 7.5/10
Luiz earned possession back once and ran the show in the opponent’s half.
CM: Lamare Bogarde – 6/10
He anchored the midfield well but offered very little in the final third.
RW: Jadon Sancho – 7/10
Sancho earned the ball back once and caused a few problems for his marker on the right flank.
CAM: Morgan Rogers – 7/10
He caused some headaches for his marker but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
LW: Emi Buendia – 6.5/10
Buendia was not shy of having a strike at goal, but there was no goal for him.
ST: Tammy Abraham – 6.5/10
Abraham managed to catch the eye at times up top, but struggled to take his chances.
ST: Leon Bailey – 6.5/10
He made a few decent chances for others around him after coming on as a substitute.
