Aston Villa have opened discussions with winger Morgan Rogers (23) over a new long-term contract, as the club look to secure the futures of several key players ahead of another demanding campaign, Sky Sports have reported
It is understood that positive talks have already taken place between Villa and Rogers’ representatives regarding a deal that could keep the 23-year-old at Villa Park until 2031. His current contract, signed last year, runs until 2030, but his growing influence under Unai Emery and rising interest from rival Premier League clubs have prompted Villa to move swiftly.
Rogers has enjoyed a breakthrough period since joining from Middlesbrough in 2024, becoming a crucial component of Emery’s high-tempo, attacking side that continues to impress both domestically and in Europ, notching up 37 goal contributions during his time at Villa so far and becoming a mainstay in the England squad.
The West Midlands club are also working to extend the contracts of Matty Cash and captain John McGinn. Cash is understood to have verbally agreed new terms, while McGinn is close to finalising his deal, signalling Villa’s intent to preserve the core of a squad that has driven their recent resurgence.
