Arsenal marked their Premier League triumph with a parade through London on Sunday, a day after losing the Champions League final to PSG following a 1-1 draw and a 4-3 penalty shootout.

Per PA, between 750,000 and 1 million people turned out, while the Metropolitan Police later rejected a 1.5 million figure that had circulated on social media.

The players rode an 8 km route to salute supporters, celebrating the club’s first league title in 22 years.

The parade brought some disorder in limited fashion. The police made 16 arrests for public order offences and drunkenness, as well as for sexual assault and assaults on emergency workers.

London Fire Brigade reported 75 rescues involving people at height along the route.

The brigade also dealt with several small fires in the parade area. No casualties were reported, and the police said the occasion was largely celebratory.
