Rennes want around €65m for Jeremy Jacquet, but Chelsea don’t want to pay that much with talks said to be ongoing according to Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea were expected to be quiet this month, but there’s been a change of plan, with the Blues looking to bring in another centre back.
According to reports Chelsea have three names on their list, believed to be Jacquet, Jacobo Ramon and Marcos Senesi.
However, Chelsea’s main target is believed to be Jacquet, and the Blues are working on a deal for the France under-21 international.
Chelsea are said to have had conversations with Rennes, but as of yet the Blues haven’t made an offer for the 20-year-old.

Chelsea have made Jacquet their number one target.
There’s said to be interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal, so Chelsea need to move fast if they want to get a deal done, and Romano has now provided an update.
“Chelsea had direct contact with Rennes, even face to face to go all in,” he told his YouTube channel.
“So Jacquet is the first option in a three man shortlist.
“Rennes want a record fee, something in the region of €65m, Chelsea at the moment are not spending that money, but the negotiation is ongoing between the clubs.
“The Player wants to go to Chelsea, Jeremy Jacquet has opened doors to Chelsea move, so personal terms are not an issue, the contract is ready, Jacquet wants Chelsea move.”
Whilst the Blues are looking to bring Jacquet in, they are also hoping to find a solution for Axel Disasi this month.

The Frenchman is expected to leave this month, with Roma, Lyon and Paris FC among the clubs reportedly showing an interest.
