Two Athletic supporters in their eighties, Yolanda and her twin brother, stole the show on Movistar Plus’s El día después, dancing at San Mamés and offering forthright views on today’s stars.

According to El Correo, cameras found the pair on the San Mamés esplanade during the latest episode, aired last night, then handed them a microphone. Yolanda introduced them as twins and kept the energy flowing.

She reeled off past Athletic greats from memory, naming Arrieta, Artetxe, Mauri and Maguregi, and noted they had played in Getxo. She also stressed she is very critical of players.

Oihan Sancet headed her list, with Yolanda sounding unconvinced. She then turned to the Williams brothers, miming a badge kiss before wagging a finger and pointing to money.

Yolanda showed her wider football knowledge too, instantly recognising Mbappé and Lamine Yamal. She even praised Mbappé’s Spanish, saying it is better than Vinicius’s.

Thinking of supporters, she skipped Alavés, Athletic’s last opponents, and instead praised Rayo, their next opponents, as charming. The twins left as they arrived, dancing, and the programme dubbed Yolanda the Athletic ‘la yaya’.
