Atlético Madrid send €35m offer for Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Atlético de Madrid have sent an offer estimated to be around €35m to Lille OSC for Matias Fernandez-Pardo (21). The French outlet writes that the offer hasn’t been rejected outright, but club president Olivier Létang is expected to negotiate a higher price. 

With Atlético Madrid having now made the initial offer, it remains to be seen whether this will trigger other clubs to enter the fray. Fernandez-Pardo is reportedly a target for Premier League sides, who may now be forced to enter the race or risk losing out on a player with significant potential. 

Will an offer change the Lille president’s mind?

Létang has previously been forceful in his comments about Fernandez-Pardo’s future, especially considering the Belgian international has a contract that keeps him tied to the French club until 2029. Létang has previously said of the matter, “We are counting on him, he knows that, and we have been very clear with him.” However, that was before Lille received a formal offer for their player.
