Ange Postecoglou was named the Roshn League’s best coach for August, a setback for Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi. Al-Hilal still produced other winners too.
According to Goal.com, the Al-Nassr boss opened the campaign with four straight wins, scoring 12 and conceding three. Even so, Al-Nassr sit second on goal difference behind Al-Hilal, who struck 15 and also let in three.
Inzaghi missed out on the coaching prize, but his Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves took the best player award for August. He started all four rounds, scoring twice and supplying two assists.
Yassine Bono was named best goalkeeper for August. The Moroccan played Al-Hilal’s first four matches, conceded three and kept two clean sheets.
Hamed Al-Shanqiti, the Al-Khaleej goalkeeper on loan from Al-Ittihad, won the best promising player award. Aged 21, he featured in Al-Khaleej’s first four matches, conceded five and did not keep a clean sheet.
