ESPN are reporting that Jizz Hornkamp will be joining AZ in January. The striker, who currently plays for Heracles, is set to earn his current club a record fee for selling a player, although the full amount has not yet been revealed. AZ will be bringing in a striker who has scored 10 goals in just 14 games for Heracles, who have turned things around somewhat since a terrible start to the season.
Hornkamp began his career with Heerenveen, where he played 21 games and scored two goals. He left the club in 2019 and joined second tier side FC Den Bosch. Hornkamp was a huge success at Den Bosch, scoring 20 goals in his first season. He only managed five in 18 games in his second season before leaving for Willem II. After 15 goals in 48 games for the club he moved to Heracles, where he is currently in his third season. Overall, despite some injury troubles, Hornkamp has scored 29 goals in 62 games.
AZ are currently sixth in the Eredivisie and will be putting Hornkamp alongside Troy Parrot, who has scored nine goals so far this season. AZ will, if they keep Parrot in January, have two top five scorers in the Dutch league. However, ESPN are reporting that AZ believe Parrot will be taken away in the next transfer window.
