Bamba Dieng has joined Red Star Belgrade on a two-year contract after leaving Lorient as a free agent. The Senegal striker hit 10 Ligue 1 goals between January and May last season.

The 26-year-old has 24 caps and 2 goals for Senegal and previously played for Marseille, Angers and Lorient. According to L'Équipe, Nice tracked him this summer and a move to Lazio reportedly collapsed after his medical.

Red Star’s multinational squad already includes Austrian veteran Marko Arnautovic, former Nantes man Osman Bukari and ex-Clermont player Muhammad Cham.

Dieng should feature in the Europa League league phase, with Red Star having won their play-off first leg 3-0 against Viktoria Plzen. The return is in Czechia on Thursday.

The switch takes him out of France and into Serbia for the coming campaign.
