On the eve of a crucial clash against Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona will have to make do without one of their defensive pillars. In a press conference, Hansi Flick confirmed the absence of Ronald Araujo, who will miss this 15th round of La Liga. The German coach was keen to protect his player, simply stating:

“Ronald Araujo can't play and he's going through a private issue… Please, respect him.”This exclusion comes at a difficult time for the Uruguayan international, who has been targeted on social media after his sending off against Chelsea in the Champions League. According to several Spanish sources, the club has internally mentioned "stomach pains," but Araujo is said to be mentally "exhausted" by the criticism.

Hansi Flick has therefore granted him a few days off to "recharge mentally and physically," a move that clearly shows the staff's determination to protect a key player—especially during a stretch where every misstep could prove costly for Barça.
