Robert Lewandowski

At the start of this season, Robert Lewandowski has only played 26 minutes. The reason: a muscular injury that forced him to miss the opening match against Mallorca. Currently on international duty with Poland, Lewandowski spoke about this unusual situation since his arrival in Catalonia.

The Polish striker is not worried at all. "I also don't think I should play by decree. We have a squad that allows us to rotate players, and that's important. Sometimes, it's more important to focus on the quality of minutes rather than their quantity. This season, we'll be constantly monitoring my fitness. Last season, I played a lot of matches and at a high intensity. There were moments when I felt very tired, and I was even injured at the end of the season," he began.

Moreover, Robert Lewandowski knows he is surrounded by other quality players and doesn't necessarily have to rush his return from injury, as happened at the start of this season. "Let's not kid ourselves, I was injured for two weeks. But the season has just begun, and it's a long one. I wasn't under pressure to play as many minutes as quickly as possible. I know August is the ideal month to find your rhythm, but everything really starts in September, so I knew I had to take it easy," he added.
