FC Barcelona have a number of talented young players coming through the ranks at La Masia, who are currently a part of the reserve team Barça Atletic.

However, it is not possible for every player to successfully make the jump from the subsidiary squad to the senior setup.

Talented players like Unai Hernandez, Pau Prim, Aleix Garrido, and Mika Faye, among others, have all departed the club in recent years in search of regular first-team football.

Victor Barbera to follow suit

Now, according to AS, another promising Barça Atletic player, Victor Barbera, is set to bid goodbye to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old striker has a contract that expires at the end of the ongoing season, at which point he is all set to sign for La Liga 2 club Real Valladolid as a free agent.

Barbera, thus, the forward is expected to arrive at Valladolid on July 1, once his contract expires, with the move already agreed.

A product of La Masia, Barbera joined the Barcelona academy in 2020, arriving from CF Damm. He progressed steadily through the ranks and went on to enjoy his best season in 2022/23, scoring eight goals in 23 games for the youth team at the age of 18.

However, the following season, he left the club for Club Brugge, where he struggled to make an impact, featuring in just four matches and playing only 29 minutes in total.

Barbera ended up returning to Barcelona last year and became a part of Barça Atletic. Injuries have hampered him, but he managed to score six goals in seven games before getting sidelined.

Set to return soon, the striker is now expected to bid goodbye to the club at the end of the season by signing for Valladolid.
