With the official season set to kick off soon, FC Barcelona are doing their best to resolve any and all pending operations. Especially in recent days, the Catalan giants have been occupied with certain key arrivals and departures simultaneously.
In terms of a pending departure, however, the operation involving Ferran Torres was taking a bit longer than initially expected. Recent reports have all confirmed that French outfit Paris Saint-Germain are heavily interested in securing the player’s services this summer and are involved in active negotiations with the club.
In fact, as confirmed by SPORT just recently, both clubs now seem to have an agreement in principle over the price that will need to be paid. While the previously reported bid was considered adequate, it seems now that both parties have a mutual understanding over the price that will be paid.
That particular price, as per the report, will be a complete package of €50 million as a fixed fee alongside an additional €5 million in bonuses. This figure seems to satisfy Barcelona while simultaneously being a figure that PSG would be willing to part ways with to secure the arrival of the 26-year-old Spanish forward.
As for the player himself, it seems clear enough that he openly welcomes this change and is ready to pack his bags and head over to France. Ultimately, for the right price, this is a deal where each and every single party involved can walk away satisfied.
Beyond this particular departure, however, Barça are heavily focused on the arrival of Manchester City star Rodri this summer. With reports suggesting that the Catalan giants would be willing to pay Manchester City’s asking price, this is another deal that could be sorted out soon. While both of these operations are inherently different, there is a possibility that the conclusion of one could directly aid the progression of the other as well.
