Ferran Torres future after PSG’s first offer to Barcelona | OneFootball

PSG, managed by Luis Enrique, have made an opening bid for Ferran Torres after the forward informed Barça he wants a move. The proposal totals 50 million, with 40 fixed and 10 in add-ons.

Marca and Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona rejected that first bid, and will not entertain anything below 50 million fixed plus add-ons.

Torres is under contract until 2027. Barça view a sale as a way to amortise the 55 million paid for him five seasons ago and recover the outlay.

Money from any deal could also support moves for club targets, including Rodri, which is described as very advanced, although there is no agreement between clubs.

Hansi Flick’s priority this window is a centre forward. Robert Lewandowski’s departure pushed Deco to find a new no 9, and losing Torres too would leave Barça in a tougher spot.

Throughout the window the main target has been Julián Alvarez, but Atlético de Madrid are not allowing the Argentine to join the Catalans.

The board must find goals to replace the 59 scored by Torres and Lewandowski across all competitions last season, a daunting task.

For now, options within the squad include Gordon, Adeyemi, Dani Olmo and even Lamine Yamal as false nines. How Barça address the role remains to be seen.
