Torres has already given the green light for a move and is prepared to sign a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants

PSG are desperate to reinforce their attack after the departures of Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani this summer.

They have identified Torres as an ideal option.

The 26-year-old etched his name into Spanish football history by scoring the decisive goal for his country in the World Cup final against Argentina last month.

Torres joined Barcelona in December 2021 from Manchester City and has been an important first-team member for them.

Last season, he scored 21 goals in 49 appearances to help the Blaugrana retain the La Liga title and win the Supercopa de Espana.

However, the centre-forward also went 14 matches without scoring between late January and mid-April.

With Torres’ contract at the Camp Nou expiring next year in June, Barcelona are willing to cash in on him this summer.

The Catalan club have lost Robert Lewandowski, who left on a free transfer. Marcus Rashford has also returned to Manchester United at the end of his loan deal.

However, they have brought in Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United and Karim Adeyemi has arrived from Borussia Dortmund.
