Cesc Fabregas has received more than a few proposals while shepherding Como to an increasingly higher level, but he’s already identified a very select list of clubs he’ll leave for when the time comes, Gianluca Di Marzio told Betadares.

The young boss had more than a few chances to leave over the years before Como blossomed into a top-four contender. Inter tracked him after Simone Inzaghi left for Al-Hilal, but their pursuit wasn’t successful. Roma and Bayer Leverkusen also chased after him that summer but were rebuffed as well.

The Spaniard isn’t in any rush to leave. He has a lot of sway within the Biancoblù, which are continuing to invest to fuel their ambitions. If he eventually departed, the front office would target somebody with a similar profile. For instance, Alberto Aquilani, who’s off to a nice start in his first Serie A spell with Sassuolo.

He’s at the cushiest place possible in Italy, so only a real contender to win the UEFA Champions League could eventually lure him away. Among the teams with a clause in their favor, Chelsea are routinely in turmoil, but we’ll see how things go after their recent ownership change.
