Barcelona are looking to clarify the futures of the goalkeepers in the squad this summer, with only Joan Garcia guaranteed a place at this point.
Wojciech Szczesny, Ander Astralaga and Inaki Pena all stare at uncertain futures, as does the team’s captain and veteran star Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
The German star left the club on loan in the winter looking for a club where he could garner minutes under his belt in a bid to make it to the German national team squad for the FIFA World Cup.

As revealed by SPORT in a recent update, Ajax Amsterdam are looking for a new goalkeeper who can bring in significant experience for next season. On that front, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen appears to be a solid option.
The German goalkeeper is seen as one of the top options to reinforce the Dutch team’s goal next season, especially for his experience, leadership and his comfort on the ball. After all, his style of play matches Ajax’s philosophy as well.
It remains to be seen how negotiations progress between the two parties, especially given how Barcelona themselves will be more than happy to let the German star go and free up space on the wage bill. The question, however, is whether Ajax will be willing to accommodate his high wages.

Ter Stegen spent six months on loan at Girona working under the command of Michel. Unfortunately, however, most of his stint at the Catalan club was lost through injury.
The same manager has now been appointed the head coach of Ajax, and Michel would be glad to have the opportunity to work with Ter Stegen.
A move to the Netherlands, thus, would be a big coincidence for both the player and the manager and one that both will look forward to. From Barcelona’s perspective, the club will hope they can seal a permanent transfer this time around and not a loan.
