The brass at La Liga giants have little intention of paying the purchase clause included in their agreement with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have early this week provided an insight into the situation.
Frontman Rashford has for his part of course spent recent weeks establishing himself as a key figure in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad.
After something of a shaky start to life in Catalunya’s capital, the Englishman has begun to showcase his unquestionable talent through a string of fine performances.
After laying on an assist in Barcelona’s defeat at the hands of Sevilla over the weekend, Rashford made it seven direct goal contributions in his last seven appearances.
With such fine form comes inevitable chatter surrounding the 27-year-old’s long-term place at the Camp Nou.
The understanding is that, should Rashford continue to impress over the months ahead, Deco and co. will do their part to keep the attacker in Spain through next season and beyond.
As alluded to above, though, as much is not expected to come by way of the payment of the €30 million purchase clause in Rashford’s loan deal.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Barça’s plan is to keep the player if everything continues as it is, but by lowering the transfer fee or opting for a new loan. And they see this as more than feasible.’
